CAFCASS Cymru
Definition: A social work service which is part of Welsh Government and independent of local authorities, it helps parties to negotiate settlements about child arrangements in private law and provides advice to the family courts in the form of welfare reports. In most public law cases, the court appoints a children’s guardian from Cafcass to represent the child’s best interests to the court.
