RSBC Connecting Families Online Support Sessions for parents
The Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC) is running some online support sessions for parents in the coming months:
- Tuesday 20th May: Meet RSBC's Family Champion. In this session, Families First Manager Mandie will join us to meet you all. She is keen to hear from you about what sessions, information and support you might welcome from RSBC in these monthly Connecting Families sessions as well as ideas for new groups and workshops. You will also get to meet Liz who is one of our new Family Champions. Liz will tell you a bit about herself and her experience of being a parent with a child who has a VI and how this Family Champion role is there to champion you all!
- Tuesday 24th June: Connecting Families + Early Years CF double bill: Habilitation support and Sense. This session will focus on habilitation support and then welcome special guests from Sense who will share their knowledge, experiences, and helpful tips, particularly as the summer months approach. You will also discuss fun activity ideas for disabled young people that encourage the entire family to get active, creative, and adventurous.
- Tuesday 8th July: Connecting Families and VICTA summer activities for children, young people with VI and their families. A special online event where RSBC collaborates with VICTA for an enjoyable evening filled with summer activities ideas for families. We will explore the specifics of VICTA’s Young Achievers Award and the Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award packages tailored for children and young people with vision impairment. This is a fantastic chance to learn about the programmes, regular activities, and discover how to engage your children and young people, and get answers to any questions you may have, plus so much more.
