RNIB UK-wide Telephone Courses for people with sight loss and their families
RNIB runs telephone courses for a people with sight loss across the UK, covering a variety of topics. The following courses are currently scheduled:
- Focus on Friends and Family: A course for adults of all ages who are friends, family members or anyone close to someone with a visual impairment, designed to help them deal with the impact that a loved one’s sight loss can have. Four sessions, 60 minutes each, taking place over 4 consecutive weeks on Wednesdays 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th September at 10 am. Book here.
- Focus On the Cost of Living: An opportunity to learn more about the help and support services available in response to the current cost of living situation. Topics to be covered include benefits, sources of support to pay utility and energy bills, sources of financial support, information and advice and ways to maintain good mental health. One 90-minute session at 11 am on Thursday 10th September, book here.
- Focus on Confident Living Outdoors: An opportunity to discuss the sight loss challenges that exist when outdoors and identify skills, equipment and aids which may be helpful when overcoming them. Three 90-minute sessions on Thursday 1st, 8th and 15th October at 11 am, book here.
- Focus on Confident Living in the Home: An opportunity to find out about the five fundamental concepts of bigger, brighter, bolder, audio and tactile and then apply these throughout the home. Four 90-minite sessions from 21st October to 11th November at 10.30, book here.
