Welsh Chamber Orchestra concert aims to improve access for vision impaired music lovers

A concert by the Welsh Chamber Orchestra (WCO) at the Welfare in Ystradgynlais on 18th June will be targeted at improving access for blind and partially sighted music lovers.

The performance will be preceded by an introduction to the orchestra and repertoire at 7pm for blind and partially sighted audience members (open to all). There is also a budget to fund transport to help vision impaired people attend the concert. This budget is quite considerable so would fund taxis from Swansea, Ammanford, Neath or Pontardawe. This concert is part of WCO’s 40th Anniversary Tour of Wales and the works to be played are Mozart’s symphony no.41 ‘Jupiter’, Haydn’s ‘Oxford’ Symphony and a world premiere of Sarah Frances Jenkins’ new commission ‘Landscapes of Wales’.
