Thomas Pocklington Trust 'STEP 2026' sessions for vision impaired students

Thomas Pocklington Trust's STEP offers a series of free, interactive online sessions designed to help blind or partially sighted student preparing to move into further or higher education feel ready, confident and prepared for your next chapter.

This year’s STEP sessions will explore:

  • Navigating social situations and building friendships
  • Developing self-advocacy and confidence skills
  • Feeling prepared and informed for the next STEP into FE or HE
  • Learning from peers who have already been through the transition
The sessions also include guest speakers from partner organisations and opportunities for students to ask questions and hear directly from blind and partially sighted students with lived experience. The first online sessions will take place on Wednesday 28th (Further education) and Thursday 29th January (Higher education) at 6–7pm via Microsoft Teams. They will then run monthly up to and including July.
