Guide Dogs Information Day in Ammanford

Guide Dogs are holding an information day on Friday 20th February at Ammanford Pensioners’ Hall from noon until 4pm. It’s the perfect opportunity to share a cuppa and find out how the charity helps people of all ages.

There will be experts on hand who work with children and young people with sight loss, giving them the best start in life. You will also meet a vision rehabilitation specialist, who can offer tips, techniques and advice on specialist equipment to help adults with sight loss to live independently. If you have a friend or family member with sight loss, and you’d like to learn how to guide them safely or offer support, our expert team can help you to access free sighted guide training. The local vision impaired bowls club and the Tuesday Visually Impaired Group will be attending if you’re looking to meet new friends or take up a new challenge.

Guide dog fans can enjoy meeting some of these life-changing dogs and puppies and find out more about volunteering to work with them. They are currently seeking a small number of fosterers in the area to offer a loving home to a young dog while he or she completes advanced training. For more information, please email lilly.amphlett@guidedogs.org.uk or visit Ammanford Pensioners’ Hall, Quay Street, Ammanford SA18 3EN between noon and 4pm on Friday 20th February.
