RSBC's Youth Forum seeks new members
The Royal Blind Children's Society's Youth Forum is recruiting new members, and are aiming to get a couple of new Welsh young people to join.
Are you passionate about driving positive change in the lives of blind and partially sighted young people? Then why not apply to become a member of the RSBC Youth Forum? The youth forum is a group of committed blind and visually impaired young people aged between 16 and 24. We raise awareness of issues and work to create change because we believe that there shouldn’t be any limits for blind and visually impaired people.
The forum meets once a month and is involved in a variety of different things, such as recording podcasts, creating social media and championing the issues they’re passionate about. Meetings are held online, so no matter where in England or Wales you live, you’ll be able to participate! So if you’d like to develop your skills, meet new people and make a difference then apply now.
You can apply in two ways: either in a video or audio clip no longer than three minutes, or by writing a personal statement no longer than 500 words. Here are some things you could put in it:
- Tell us about yourself
- What are you passionate about? Are there any specific issues VI people face that you’re interested in?
- What skills will you bring to the forum?
- Have you been involved with RSBC or other organisations before? Tell us about your experiences of that
RSBC will also be hosting two online drop in sessions in April. These are an opportunity to come along, meet some forum members and ask us any questions you might have! They are on:
