Opportunity to star in new Audio Description awareness film

Theatr Iolo, which creates theatre for children in Wales, is trying to create more awareness of audio description at theatres for families. The company is planning to produce a short film that will feature a family with at least one child between age 5 and 12 that is blind or partially sighted and is looking for families who would like to be involved.

Filming will be done on Wednesday 12 February 2025 during the daytime between 9.30am- 3.30pm. The family will be filmed and photographed arriving at The Sherman Theatre in Cardiff, taking part in a touch tour for a show, then watching the show with AD headset on. They will get to watch the Theatr Iolo TIDY show for free. You can find out more about the show here.

Theatr Iolo need to have consent to use the film and photographs to promote audio description services for future Theatr Iolo and Sherman shows, and be part of an audio description awareness media campaign on social media and website. They will provide the family with a £100 gift voucher for a shop of their choice, provide food and drinks throughout the day and pay any expenses involved in getting them to and from the theatre.

If your family is interested in getting involved, please give Michelle Perez (Executive Director of Theatr Iolo) a call on 07966 246218. The company is happy to feature more than one family and a couple of VIP adults too if there is sufficient interest.
