Research report gives proposals for a mental health training curriculum for staff in the visual impairment sector
Sight impairment can have profound psychological consequences, but these are not always addressed. A research report published in the British Journal of Visual Impairment contains proposals for a curriculum which would train people working in the sight loss sector (such a charities or local authorities) to identify mental health issues in their clients, and signpost them for support.
The report was produced by a team of researchers, including two academics from Cardiff University. You can read it here.
