RNIB Meet & Greet discussion groups
RNIB Meet & Greet discussion groups are available to people aged 16 onwards, who live in the UK, have one or more eye conditions, and have never used RNIB before.
Are you willing to share your experience of living with an eye condition(s) whether that’s in one or both eyes? RNIB want to hear from a range of people to understand their needs and experiences and are looking for people to join their discussion groups.
The groups are held over Microsoft Teams or Zoom on Monday to Friday with a variety of start times available ranging from 8am to 6pm. The groups last for 1½ to 2 hours. If you want to join by telephone, there is an option of dialling you into the call, so you aren’t left out and RNIB are sure to hear from everyone they possibly can.
RNIB want to listen to what is important in your daily life and learn from your experience, so they can be sure they understand the real issues you face, and let you know what activities the charity provides. The benefits for participants are:
- the chance to be heard and influence services.
- a sense of purpose in helping reduce the number of people without support
- being valued for the skills, knowledge, attitudes and experience you bring
- the opportunity to build personal confidence and self-worth, and have your mind stimulated
