Mental Health Support Groups for people with vision impairment / sight loss and their carers in Northeast Wales

Healthy Minds Matter is a Community Interest Company (CIC) which helps to support people with their everyday mental health, particularly those who may not meet the criteria for clinical support. The company is running a new 6-month National Lottery Wales funded initiative to support the mental wellbeing of people living with sight loss and carers of people living with sight loss (as a separate group) in Northeast Wales.

Workshops will be run between October 2026 and March 2027 and are designed to support people who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious or low in confidence. They offer practical tools and techniques to boost resilience and look after mental health. The groups offer a friendly, supportive space to meet others who may be experiencing similar feelings. Sessions will be run in two venues, one in Wrexham and one along the NE Wales coast (exact locations will be finalised based on where the majority of expressions of interest come from). People can register their interest using the Google forms below:

If someone needs help completing the form, the team can go through it with them over the phone. The person themselves, a carer or a professional supporting them can contact Healthy Minds Matter to arrange this, and they can complete the necessary paperwork at the same time. Contact details are email info@heatlhymindsmatter.co.uk, or telephone Andrea on 07981 508023 or Tracy on 07973 695439.

Once a completed Google form has been received, the applicant will be contacted to arrange a short telephone or online meeting, depending on their preference. This gives us an opportunity to complete the remaining paperwork, talk through the programme and answer any questions they may have. The intention is for the registration process to be as accessible as possible, so if anyone needs the information in another format, would prefer to register their interest in a different way, or needs any additional support, please let them know.
