Chance to help research into designing apps to help disabled people make journeys

The University of Southampton is doing research on how to best design apps that help disabled people plan and make their everyday journeys. If you are 18 or over and have one or more of the impairments listed below, or any other condition that affects your ability to use public transport or active travel (e.g., walking, cycling, wheeling) you are invited to complete an anonymous questionnaire:

  • Mobility
  • Blind / visually impaired
  • Chronic illness / long-term health condition
  • Deaf / hard of hearing
  • Neurodivergent
  • Learning disability
  • Mental health condition

You will be asked about how to design phone or internet apps that could make it easier for you to make the journeys you choose. The questionnaire will take around 15 minutes to complete and can be found online here. If you choose to, you can be entered into a prize draw to win one of twenty £50 prizes. You will need to give your email address to enter you into the prize draw, but that won’t be linked in any way to your survey response.

If you would prefer to complete the questionnaire on paper, receive an EasyReader or BSL version, or have assistance completing the questionnaire, please email Rich McIlroy at r.mcilroy@soton.ac.uk.
