'Ballet Cymru 3' - Inclusive ballet classes in Rogerstone, Newport
Ballet Cymru is running weekly inclusive ballet sessions which are suitable for children with sight loss aged 8+.
The aim of Ballet Cymru 3 is to create an opportunity for anyone to learn ballet technique in a supportive environment, and also to develop creativity and additional dance skills in a fun and inclusive way. There will be disabled and non-disabled participants and practitioners, participants who have no experience of ballet technique and participants who have trained in ballet for several years. Everyone is welcome and will be challenged to their personal capabilities. If someone needs 1 to 1 support, then that person must also be in the room participating in the session with them. Participants must wear comfortable clothes to dance in and have either bare feet or wear ballet shoes. Socks may be needed at times but will not be able to be worn for the majority of the session.
Sessions are held weekly on a Wednesday 5.30-6.30pm at Ballet Cymru, Unit 1 Wern Industrial Estate, Rogerstone, Newport NP10 9FQ. There is parking on site. The first session is free, then charges are £5 drop-in or £4 per session per half term. For more information contact louiselloyd@welshballet.co.uk.
You can also find out more on the Ballet Cymru website, and in audio fliers. There are available in English or Welsh.
