Welsh Parliament Equality and Social Justice Committee publish report on the disability equality gap

The Welsh Parliament Equality and Social Justice Committee has published the results of its inquiry into the disability employment and payment gap. The report, 'Anything’s Achievable with the Right Support: Tackling the Disability Employment Gap', concludes that ' widespread misconceptions and negative attitudes persist in the workplace with regards, for example, to the costs associated with reasonable adjustments. These need to be challenged at every opportunity'.

The inquiry took evidence from a wide range of organisations including Disability Wales and RNIB Cymru, and gives seven recommendations of actions to be taken by Welsh Government. You can find out more, read the full report, a summary and Easy Read versions here. Copies of the document can also be obtained in accessible formats including Braille, large print, audio or hard copy.

The report has been welcomed by Disability Wales. You can read their statement here.
