Dealing with bullying - Contact's Guide for Parents
Anti Bullying Week in November raises awareness of the harm that this behaviour can cause. Bullying can happen to any child, but is often aimed at children who are different in some way, for example because of a disability. Contact, the UK charity for families with a disabled child, has produced a range of information about this subject, including a guide with help and advice for families dealing with this difficult situation.
The guide covers topics such as recognising the signs of bullying, building self-esteem, and making a complaint to the school. You can access Contact's resources on bullying on their website, and read 'Dealing with Bullying - Information for parents of a disabled child' here.
