Hi Vis Fortnight 2024 celebrates accessible reading in libraries
Hi Vis Fortnight is the event that aims to celebrate all things related to accessible libraries and reading, and to raise awareness about the services that are on offer for people with a vision or print impairment. This year's event takes place from 1st to 14th June.
The theme for this year is a call for libraries to 'ACT':
- To celebrate ‘Accessibility’ in reading, in library buildings, in engagement activities.
- To emphasise ‘Connection’ and show that libraries have a lot to offer and is an ideal time for connections to be made.
- To highlight the ‘Tactile’ – be it Braille, or other tactile books.
You can find out more about local libraries, and organisations providing an accessible library service to people with sight loss on Wales Council of the Blind's Perspectif database.
During Hi Vis Fortnight, follow #HiVis2024 for the latest news. If any libraries in Wales are holding events, let us know and we will spread the word.
