Vision Foundation report explores loneliness and isolation in people with sight loss.
'Outside: Loneliness and Isolation', a new report from Vision Foundation, considers vision impaired people's experience of loneliness and isolation, and finds that respondents to their survey were three times more likely to report feeling lonely some or all the time than the general population.
Interviewees directly associated their loneliness or isolation with their sight loss, and the report concludes that there is a pressing need to make it easier for vision impaired people to engage in activities and experiences that improve wellbeing, reduce isolation and bring joy.
