Report on Hynt access scheme shows how it has increased theatre visits
A new impact report on Hynt, the national access scheme for theatres and arts centres in Wales, shows how the scheme has increased theatre attendance for disabled audience members in Wales.
However, the report also shows that the proportion of vision impaired people using the scheme is low at only 1% of the estimated eligible number. You can read the report on the Arts Council of Wales website.
The Hynt scheme entitles eligible cardholders to a ticket free-of-charge for personal assistants or carers to be used across participating theatres and venues in Wales. The website provides information about accessible performances (including audio description) across Wales, and access guides for all Hynt venues. You can find out more and apply for a Hynt Card here.
