'Turned Out': RNIB Report on voting in 2022 local elections
RNIB has published the results of its survey on the experiences of vision impaired voters in the UK's local elections in May 2022.
'Turned Out 2022' reports that only one in five of the blind and partially sighted people who responded were able to vote independently and in secret. There seems to have been little progress in tackling issues familiar from previous elections, such as inadequate staff training, provision of information in inaccessible formats, and lack of accessible voting aids.
You can find out more and read the full report, which includes recommendations, on the action needed, here.
