Sense Cymru is running weekly activities

Sense Cymru is running a series of weekly activities.

Seated Yoga - Mondays 11.45 - 12.45pm @ telephone Their seated yoga classes are a fun and friendly, low-impact way to keep active. Calm the mind and move the body, gently following the instructions provided by our expert teacher. These are audio sessions delivered by telephone. This activity is relaxed and gentle, and can be taken at the pace of the participant. Progressions can be provided to challenge participants, if desired. This activity is suitable for people aged 50+ and those with sight loss. Sensory Tennis -Tuesdays 10.30 - 11am @ Caerphilly Sensory Tennis offers the opportunity for people with complex disabilities and sensory impairments to play tennis in a more sensory and engaging way that is adapted for their specific needs. Taking part in this activity will help you to develop your health and fitness, coordination, independence and communication, and support you to carry out everyday tasks. This activity is suitable for both beginners and those with previous experience in tennis. All activities will be suitably modified to suit the participant. Movement to Music - Wednesdays 12.15 - 1 pm @ Llantrisant Delivered in partnership with Rubicon Dance, this is a fun and energetic movement session. It is completely adaptable and can be done seated or standing. This is a great activity to increase fitness levels, have fun and meet new people. Music will be adapted to suit individual preferences. This is a medium intensity activity and is created for people with complex disabilities but can be enjoyed by anyone. Seated Pilates - Thursdays 11.30am - 12.30pm @ virtual Join their fun and friendly pilates class for a low-impact way to keep active in your own home. Calm the mind and move the body gently following the instructions provided by our expert teacher. It is suitable for both beginners and those with previous experience in pilates, the instructor will provide appropriate modifications to suit your level. Drumming to Music - Fridays 2.00 - 2.30pm @ virtual Enjoy moving to upbeat music whilst practicing your drumming skills using wooden spoons, pens, or whatever you have at home! This session can be completed seated , or standing. You will need a clear space around you. This session is a low-medium intensity. Exercise Through Dance - Saturdays 11.00 - 11.45am @ virtual Dance into the weekend every Saturday morning with our live session streamed on Zoom in partnership with Step Change Studios. Have fun whilst getting active, learning new routines from Bollywood to Hip-Hop. Taking part in this activity will help you develop coordination, mobility, flexibility and will support you to carry out everyday tasks.
