New Curriculum Framework for Children and Young People with Vision Impairment launched
A new, UK-wide Curriculum Framework for Vision Impaired Children and Young People (CFVI) has been launched. The framework has been produced in collaboration with education professions and sight loss organisations from across the UK, including RNIB, the Pocklington Trust and the Welsh Association of Vision Impairment Educators (WAVIE), and it defines the specialist skills development and best practice support to promote equity, inclusion and personal agency of children and young people with sight loss.
The framework is based around eleven areas of learning, including literacy, technology and communication, and covers ages 0 to 25 years. It will be of help to education professionals and parents. You can find out more, and read the CFVI (including a Welsh language version) on the RNIB website.
