Royal College of Ophthalmologists issues new Guidance for Commissioning Age-Related Macular Degeneration Services
The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) has developed new guidance for commissioners of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) services. It sets out the principles and minimum standards of care for AMD to decrease variations of care across AMD services in England and Wales.
The guide includes a recommendation that all patients with visual impairments are made aware of Charles Bonnet Syndrome - which causes visual hallucinations in patients. You can read the full guidance and the Executive Summary here.
