RNIB issues updated Sight Loss Data Tool
An updated version of the Sight Loss Data tool has been issued by RNIB. It gives a wide range of statistical information about sight loss, organised by local authority, region or country.
For Wales, the number of people living with sight loss compared to the overall population is given as 4%. The information suggests that there are currently 111,000 people in Wales affected by sight loss, of whom 14,900 have severe sight loss. The overall total number is forecast to increase to 129,000 by 2025 and 146,000 by 2030. You can find out more and download the information on RNIB's website.
