Welsh Government issues guidance on creating safer public spaces during the coronavirus pandemic
The Welsh Government has issued guidance to the owners and operators of public places to keep people safe when restrictions are relaxed and urban spaces become busier.
'Creating safer public places: coronavirus' is a framework for identifying the issues associated with the use of public places in light of the need for social distancing. The guidance states that the need for equality impact assessments is a key principle when making changes, and that 'Consideration of the needs of partially sighted / blind people is particularly important given the potential impact of temporary, or changed layouts. Working closely with organisations such as RNIB at the planning stage can ensure needs are as fully met as possible.'.
