Retina UK reports on the challenges faced by working age people with degenerative sight loss
Retina UK (formerly RP Fighting Blindness) has published the results of a research project which was designed to identify gaps in services that working age people with inherited progressive sight loss would benefit from in their working lives.
The report details many areas where more support is needed, with the provision of services at the point of diagnosis, particularly information on how one's condition might develop, seen as the top priority. Information on the Access to Work scheme, and about assistive technology was also needed. Retina UK will be using the evidence provided by this research to enhance its services.
You can find out more, and read the full report, on the Retina UK website.
