RSBC Connecting Families Online Support Sessions - bringing parents and carers together
Connecting Families is a series of online group sessions organised by the Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC) which are designed to bring together parents and carers of children and young people with vision impairments.
In late 2025, RSBC’s Family Support team held focus groups with parents and carers to explore their needs for Connecting Families. They shared ideas for new topics, speakers, and session structure and their input has shaped plans for 2026. Because the challenges and questions parents face change as their child grows, RSBC have created four age-specific Connecting Families groups; Early Years, Primary Years, Secondary Years and Post-16 . The dates of the next meetings are:
- Early Years: 20th July.
- Primary Years: September, date not yet announced.
- Secondary Years: 21st July.
- Post-16: September, date not yet announced.
The age-specific groups are taking a break in August. However, there will be a Connecting Families Summer Social covering all age groups on 19th August. This relaxed and informal session will be held online - for more information and to book a place, click here.
