RNIB UK-wide Telephone Courses for people with sight loss and their families
RNIB runs telephone courses for a people with sight loss across the UK, covering a variety of topics. The following courses are currently scheduled:
- Focus on Confident Living Outdoors: Three 90-minute sessions at 2 pm on Tuesdays 5th, 12th and 19th May. An opportunity to discuss the sight loss challenges that exist when outdoors and identify skills, equipment and aids which may be helpful when overcoming them. Book here. A second presentation of this course will run at 10.30 am on Thursdays 7th, 14th and 21st May.
- Focus on technology: The course aims to improve your knowledge on accessible technologies and to give you the confidence to start using technology on a day-to-day basis or alternatively to build on any existing knowledge you already have. Two ninety-minute sessions on 12th and 19th May, book here. A second presentation of this course will run at 2 pm on Thursdays 4th and 11th June.
- Focus on Employment: An informal three session course at 2 pm on Mondays 1st, 8th and 15th June. The course is for people who you are looking for employment, need support to remain in employment or are on the journey to discover your next steps towards employment. Topics covered include identifying and developing your employment skills, knowing your rights, knowing what support is available and moving forward (volunteering opportunities, paid work placement schemes, job searches and applications support, and interview tips.
