Opportunity to join RSBC's Youth Forum

Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC) is looking for new members of their Youth Forum.

Are you passionate about driving positive change in the lives of blind and partially sighted young people? Then why not apply to become a member of the RSBC Youth Forum? The youth forum is a group of committed blind and visually impaired young people aged between 16 and 24. They raise awareness of issues and work to create change because they believe that there shouldn’t be any limits for blind and visually impaired people.

The forum meets once a month and is involved in a variety of different things, such as recording podcasts, creating social media and championing the issues they’re passionate about. Meetings are held online, so no matter where in England or Wales you live, you’ll be able to participate. So if you’d like to develop your skills, meet new people and make a difference then join the Forum!

How to apply: Let RSBC know about you! There are a couple of ways you can do this. Either in a video or audio clip no longer than three minutes, or by writing a personal statement no longer than 500 words. This could include:

  • What are you passionate about? Are there any specific issues VI people face that you’re interested in?
  • What skills will you bring to the forum?
  • Have you been involved with RSBC or other organisations before? Tell us about your experiences of that.
Please send your applications and any questions you might have to youth.forum@rsbc.org.uk.

You can check out the Youth Forum website and get to know the members here. There is also a YouTube channel you can watch here.
