Speak Up for Accessible Bus Travel - send a message to your MS

RNIB Cymru is inviting blind and partially sighted people to take part in a short video campaign to help shape the future of bus travel. The Senedd will debate the Bus Services (Wales) Bill on 16th September — and RNIB Cymru want Members of the Senedd (MSs) to hear directly from their constituents.

The charity is asking you to record a short video message to your MS. In your video, you can:

  • Share one key finding from RNIB’s bus services report.
  • Mention one recommendation that would improve bus travel
  • Ask your MS to raise this during the debate

To record your video, you can choose the way that works best for you:

  • Film yourself using a phone or tablet
  • Join a Teams or Zoom call, and RNIB Cymru will record it for you
  • Visit their office in Cardiff, and receive help with filming
RNIB Cymru will provide a list of key findings and recommendations to choose from, a simple script outline you can follow and support with filming, writing your message, or finding your MS. If filming isn’t accessible or desirable for you, you can still take part by writing a message to your MS. We’ll help you with wording and make sure it reaches them in time for the debate.

To make sure your message reaches your MS in time, please register your interest by 25th August and either send in your videos, arrange a virtual call, or come to the office by 10th September. Please contact Rachel Jones on rachel.jones@rnib.org.uk or Rhys Williams on rhys.williams@rnib.org.uk who can follow up with everything you need to get started.
