'Working Sense' employment project
Working Sense is a project that will enhance the employability of people over 25 with sensory loss (i.e. people who are D/deaf or have hearing loss and people who are blind or have vision loss) disability or health condition, by providing specialist support to enable the target group to enter/re-enter and remain in employment, or move closer toward employment using a holistic one-to-one approach utilising designated project staff.
The support provided is:
- Support into employment or with job searches
- Completing work experience placements or finding suitable volunteering opportunities
- Gaining a qualification or work relevant certification
- Confidence building, travel training and vocational skills
- Wellbeing support
To work with Working Sense, beneficiaries must have a sensory loss, disability or health condition; be over the age of 25; live in Conwy, Denbighshire or Flintshire and be economically inactive. The project has a heavy focus on the wellbeing of individuals, providing regular face to face meetings to work towards goals, facing and overcoming barriers.
