RNIB 'See Cymru Differently (Hiraeth)' project
'See Cymru Differently (Hiraeth)' is a new three-year project, funded by the National Lottery and run by RNIB Cymru, which aims to make Wales the leading UK nation where National Parks are fully accessible for blind and partially sighted people for current and future generations. This initiative also aims to enhance understanding of eye health in rural communities and the available support services within Wales.
The project will address the significant barriers to blind and partially sighted people in accessing Wales' beautiful countryside. RNIB Cymru will be looking to run some Focus groups throughout Wales this summer, to gage a baseline of how accessible blind and partially sighted people in Wales currently find the National Parks, Landscape areas and outdoor spaces generally. Later on they will also be looking to recruit a family of supporters across Wales, who would like to make a difference in their own communities.
