'Turned Out 2024': RNIB reports results of its survey on voting in the 2024 UK General Election
RNIB has published the results of its survey on the experiences of vision impaired people when trying to vote in the 2024 General Election. Yet again, many voters with sight loss reported feeling frustrated and humiliated by the current electoral system, with only 26 per cent of blind people feeling that the current voting system allowed them to vote independently and in secret.
The recent introduction of the requirement for voters to produce photo id at polling stations is thought to have made the electoral process even less accessible. You can find out more and read the full report here.
