‘The State of the UK’s Eye Health 2021’ report shows devastating impact of the pandemic
The pandemic has prevented many people from accessing eye care services over the past year, and a report commissioned by Specsavers has attempted to quantify the impact of this situation on the UK’s eye health.
‘The State of the UK’s Eye Health 2021’ shows a huge decline in the number of eye tests, referrals to ophthalmology and outpatient attendances, and concludes that the UK risks a ‘vision crisis’. The report also highlights how optometry services in each of the UK nations have used innovation to deliver services in different ways, such as changes to glaucoma care in Wales, and includes individual case studies. You can read the full report here. There is also an overview of the report on the Specsavers website.
