Results of 'Fight for Sight' survey show impact of pandemic on vision impaired people
The responses to Fight for Sight's recent survey on the impact of the coronavirus on vision impaired people have been analysed. Concerns were raised about access to eye treatment (and the potential deterioration of sight), access to food, and the impact of social distancing measures.
The problems of social distancing and shopping for people with sight loss have been given more publicity recently, with discussions on programmes such as Radio 4's Woman's Hour and Today, an article by Adrian Chiles in The Guardian, a feature on ITV News, and an interview with paralympian Libby Clegg on the BBC website.
Fight for Sight is calling on the Government to come up with an urgent plan to make sure that people do not lose their eyesight due to lack of appointments. For more information, click here.
