Welsh theatres need to improve their services for disabled customers
Vocal Eyes, the organisation that aims to increase the access of people with sight loss to the arts and to heritage sites, has produced its annual 'State of Theatre Access Report'. The report considers the availability of access information on theatre websites, and the number of accessible performances.
Unfortunately the data for Wales is poor, with only 67% of venues surveyed providing disability access information on their websites, against a UK average of 74%. Only 17% of Welsh theatres listed audio described performances (UK average 20%). You can find out more and read the full report here.
