New guide: Digital Inclusion for Health & Care in Wales
The Welsh Government, NHS Wales and Wales Co-operative Centre have published a new guide which is intended to improve digital inclusion, and ensure that the benefits of using digital technologies to manage health, wellbeing and care are available to all. Although the guide is particularly aimed at healthcare organisations in Wales, it should also be useful to local authorities and voluntary organisations.
Figures show that although 89% of people in Wales use the internet, only 74% of people with a disability or long term health condition do so. The guide includes advice on topics such as raising awareness, setting up 'Digital Heroes' befriending schemes, and using accessible technology.
