Parliamentary report recommends change to Disabled Student Allowance
The UK Parliament's All-Party Parliamentary Group for Assistive Technology has conducted a review into how the Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) is working, and recommended that the requirement for students to pay an upfront charge of £200 towards the cost of a high-powered laptop be removed 'as a matter of urgency' because it has led to a significant drop in take-up of essential assistive technology.
