Let's Talk Telephone Befriending Service (North Wales)
For people living with a vision impairment who may be feeling lonely and isolated and would like a chat to a friendly volunteer. Vision Support's Telephone Befriending Service is delivered by volunteers who can call once a week (or less frequently if desired) at a time on a day that is agreed.Independent living advice
Vision Support's qualified rehabilitation officers focus on maintaining independence and promoting equality for anyone living with sight loss. They also have a team of Rehabilitation Assistants who demonstrate specialist equipment and support service users in their own homes.Halton Sensory Service Resource Centre
The fully trained staff and volunteers at Vision Support's Halton Sensory Service Resource Centre alongside Deafness Resource Centre, supported by Halton Borough Council, are a fully integrated sensory service geared to meeting the diverse needs of people with sensory loss. They demonstrate and sell specialist equipment to help with daily living. The Resource Centre has a range of information on Vision Support's services and other relevant services available locally and nationally.Vision Support Community Information Service
Vision Support have two Community Information Service vehicles that visit local communities making it easier for those unable to get to a resource centre to access information, services and equipment. Monthly schedules for the two vehicles are published on the website. The Wales events are listed in Perspectif's events calendar. Vision Support's Wellbeing Hub aims to provide you with information including websites and apps that can help improve your wellbeing as well as services that you can access throughout North-East Wales, Cheshire-West and Chester and Halton. We understand the significant impact that living with a vision impairment can have upon an individual's wellbeing. The Vision Support counselling Service provides counselling support over the phone to provide emotional support when you need it.Vision Support Home Visitor Service
Vision Support understand how isolating living with a vision impairment can be due to reduced confidence and mobility. Our home visitor service is here to provide companionship on a regular basis.Vision Support Better Wellbeing Workshops
Exploring the emotional impact of vision impairment, sharing experiences if you feel comfortable and learning about coping mechanisms you can adopt to increase your emotional resilience. These sessions will be delivered by Vision Support Wellbeing Service Manager Gary Twigg and is open to anyone living with a vision impairment and their supporter’s.
