National Eye Health Week - 18th to 24th September 2023

This year's National Eye Health Week is 18th to 24th September, The event promotes the importance of good eye health and the need for regular eye tests for all. Each day will have a theme, to raise awareness of different aspects of eye care.

The themes are:

  • Monday - NHS Eye Care & Support
  • Tuesday - Myopia and Me
  • Wednesday - Digital Eye Care
  • Thursday - Eye on Mental Health
  • Friday - Live Well, See Well
  • Saturday - Vision Matters Photographic Competition & Exhibition
  • Sunday - Smoking & Sight Loss

The importance of visiting your local optometrist if you are experiencing any problems with your eyes is highlighted in the story of a woman from Cardiff whose sight was saved thanks to the "quick thinking and thorough" optometrist who she visited when she was troubled by an itch in her eye.
