VI bowler Julie Thomas in Queen's Baton Relay for Commonwealth Games 2022
Following her selection to represent Wales in the Commonwealth Games at Birmingham this summer, vision impaired bowler Julie Thomas was chosen to take part in the Queen's Baton Relay which reached Wales over the first weekend in July.
Julie, who is also a Wales Council of the Blind trustee, was a medalist at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She was recently interviewed by Lynne Bowles on her Radio Wales programme, and talks about losing her sight, how she got involved in bowls, how the game is played by vision impaired people, visiting the Gold Coast in Australia for the 2018 games, her work with BridgeVis and much more.
