Macular Week 2022
This year's Macular Week is Monday 20th to Sunday 26th June. The Macular Society will be highlighting the impact of the condition, and also the urgent need for more funding for research to find a cure. Nearly 1.5 million people in the UK have macular disease, and it can affect people of all ages.
The Macular Society offers a wide range of support services to people affected by central vision loss. These include:
- Patient information on all aspects of macular disease, and living with the condition.
- Confidential telephone counselling service
- Advice and Information line
- Local Support Groups in all parts of Wales, offering practical and emotional support
- Telephone befriending service, where you are matched with someone who shares your interests for a regular, friendly chat
- Treatment buddies, who offer information and support to people concerned about the injections given for AMD
- Regular virtual clinics on a wide range of topics
