Taking a covid test when you are vision impaired

Taking a covid test presents particular problems when you have sight loss. In a recent interview for Metro news, journalist and blogger Lucy Edwards, who has no sight, highlights the difficulties, and shows how she uses the 'Be My Eyes' app to carry out the test.

The article includes a short YouTube video in which Lucy demonstrates how she uses the app. You can find out more here.

Be My Eyes is the free app that connects vision impaired people with sighted volunteers and company representatives for visual assistance through a live video call. You can find out how they have partnered with the NHS to offer support for covid testing on their website.
