New study could help to identify AMD before sight loss
Recent research has identified that people with healthy eyes and no history of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) had thinner retinas if they carried genes that put them at risk of the disease. This raises the possibility that earlier treatment could be developed to slow down the onset of the condition.
