JobSense scheme in in Rhondda Cynon Taff, Merthyr Tydfil, Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly
Following the recent announcement that the JobSense employment scheme for people with sensory loss has been extended to cover West Wales and the Valleys, MTIB (Merthyr Tydfil Institute for the Blind) have provided information on how they will be operating the scheme for people in Rhondda Cynon Taff, Merthyr Tydfil, Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly.
The aim is to upskill vision impaired and hearing-impaired people and work towards employment. Although paid employment may not be the goal for everyone, gaining qualifications, training and voluntary work are a good way to gain experience, confidence, motivation and raise aspirations. MTIB is keen to work alongside you in achieving your goals.
Some examples of the skills that you can be helped to develop include:
- Body Language
- Customer Service
- Disability Awareness and disclosure
- Writing CV, Cover Letters and Speculative Letters
- Improving Interview Skills
- Identifying Own Skills
