TPT report finds vision impaired students in further education disadvantaged by their disability

A new report from the Thomas Pocklington Trust, which looked at how blind and partially sighted students access information and assistive technology, has revealed that there is a general lack of disability awareness in staff at Further Education (FE) colleges.

The report, 'Technology and Accessibility in Further Education' found 'a prevailing culture of disregard for the needs of blind and partially sighted students and is in breach of legal responsibilities'. It includes recommendations for improvement, and a link to practical guidance for making colleges accessible.

You can find out more and read the full report, executive summary and guidance for colleges here.
