Passenger Assistance app aims to make rail travel easier for disabled people

A new app has been launched to make it much easier for people with disabilities to arrange assistance when they travel on the National Rail network.

After downloading the Passenger Assistance app, users can set up a profile detailing their exact accessibility needs. When intending to travel, they can then use the app to request assistance on their journey and details are passed to the appropriate station staff. An accessibility panel, which is made up of people with a diverse range of accessibility needs, has been closely involved in designing the app.

For more information, including short films, a list of frequently-asked questions, and details of the accessibility panel, visit the Passenger Assistance website.
