Start Something Good - Social enterprise challenge for young people in Wales

Big Ideas Wales has launched the Start Something Good Social Enterprise Challenge 2021 for young people aged 11-18 living in Wales. They want to hear from young people if they can think of a solution to something that would have a positive impact on people in their community.

The Challenge is intended to help develop enterprising, creative, ethical and informed citizens. Young people can work on this challenge independently or in groups at home, school, college or in any other community group setting. It will provide opportunities for them to showcase their entrepreneurial talent and their understanding of the impact of a social enterprise.

There are two age categories: 11-16 (16 and under) and 16-18 (post 16). The regional winners in each category will have £100 to donate to their chosen local social enterprise or charity, as well as Big Ideas Wales hoodies. One winning idea (in the 16-18 age category) will receive up to £200 as well as mentoring support to help them develop their business idea – plus a hoodie from Big Ideas Wales.

For more information about the Start Something Good challenge and how to apply, click here. The closing date for on-line entries is 28th April, and winners will be announced on 26th May.
