Cardiff Blues VI Rugby Team seeks new members
The Cardiff Blues Visually Impaired rugby team is looking for new members. The team is part of the Cardiff Blues Region and fully supported by the club and Welsh Rugby Union (WRU). All games and training sessions take place at Cardiff Arms Park on Tuesday evenings at 6pm and this will begin again when restrictions allow. Details are:
- Non-Contact Rugby (no tackling) and 7 a-side
- Anyone over the age of 16 can play/train
- The team is mixed gender and is actively wanting to recruit more female players
- No experience is necessary, if you are just curious come along and try it out
- All coaches are fully qualified WRU coaches employed by the Cardiff Blues
- Players have a wide variety of sight loss conditions e.g. RP, Nystagmus, Diabetic Retinopathy
Fixtures are organised for this summer against Welsh and English teams all to be played at Cardiff Arms Park. It’s a brilliant way to make new friends at the same time as having fun getting fit, and it’s also great for improving mental health.
If you don’t want to play there are a number of volunteering opportunities available to help support and develop the team. For further information please contact Gareth via email at gareth.davies@rnib.org.uk or phone 07949949256.
