Parents of vision impaired children wanted to help research project

A PhD student at Swansea University is conducting a research project titled 'A qualitative study of psychological wellbeing among family members of visually impaired children and adolescents', and is looking for parents to be interviewed.

The telephone interview will explore how having a child with a visual impairment impacts on the family, particularly on parents and guardians. The researcher wants to hear about the experience of both parents, and is offering one or both parents the chance to be interviewed separately at times that suit you best.

The interview will last about one hour. In it, you will be asked about how your child’s visual impairment affects your family life, how you cope with your child’s visual impairment as a family, and about any positive effects your child’s visual impairment has had. Any personal information given will be changed to make sure no one can be identified.

If you would like to take part, or if you would like to know more about the study, please contact the researcher by email: 711363@swansea.ac.uk or by phone: 07971 261380.
