'Managing Better' service building good relationships with key stakeholders

The Welsh Institute for Health and Social Care (WIHSC) at the University of South Wales has conducted an independent evaluation of the Managing Better programme, which is managed by Care and Repair Cymru in partnership with RNIB Cymru, Action on Hearing Loss and individual Care & Repair agencies across Wales.

The Managing Better service is delivered by 13 specialist caseworkers who work proactively with Health and Social Care locally, to identify vulnerable, frail older people in need of help with a safe and healthy home environment before they reach a crisis point. The report concludes that the caseworkers have developed effective relationships with sensory teams and rehabilitation officers for vision impairment (ROVIs).
